Agnes Gertrude Wegmann of Edgewood

Agnes Gertrude Wegmann, 84, of Edgewood, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 26, 1941, at the Petersburg family home, the daughter of Elmer and Josephine (Lansing) Boeckenstedt. Agnes was a graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School.
On June 18, 1966, Agnes was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Wegmann at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Greeley. Five children were born to this union. The couple farmed together near Edgewood. As well as being a fulltime farm wife, Agnes also worked at the Ertl Toy Company in Dyersville and the Edgewood Locker.
Agnes was a longtime member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Edgewood, where she enjoyed participating in the church choir. Agnes liked birdwatching, Hallmark movies, and going to tractor pulls. In her younger years, Agnes was a member of a card club and the Greeley rope pulling team. Above all else, family was very important to her and she cherished spending time with them.
Survivors include her four children, Doug (Lisa) Wegmann of Edgewood, Dennis (Chrystal) Wegmann of Edgewood, Sally (Kelly) Anderegg of Winthrop, and Traci (Mark) Funk of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Dustin Wegmann, Ashley (Steven) Connell, Colton (Molly) Wegmann, Makenzie (Brody Bruns) Wegmann, Jordan Wegmann, Izacc (Jordyn) Anderegg, Danielle (Jeff) Campbell, Lacy Anderegg, Madison (Nick) Wakefield, Garrett Funk, and Jenna Funk; four great-grandchildren, Clara and Riley Connell and Mercer and Evander Anderegg; siblings, Alice (Reynold) Tegeler, Elaine (LeRoy) Mullis, Merle (Judy) Boeckenstedt, and Jane (Win) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Wegmann; a daughter, Susan Wegmann; and siblings, Allie (Marie) Boeckenstedt, Mary (Don) Moorman, Leon (Wilma) Boeckenstedt, Elmer “Buddy” Boeckenstedt, Jr., and Gladys Boeckenstedt.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Edgewood, Iowa, with Rev. Paul Baldwin officiating.
Visitation: 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood, where there will be a 6:30 p.m. Scripture Service.
Inurnment: St. Mark Catholic Cemetery – Edgewood, Iowa
