Allamakee Animal Neglect Charges

SEARCH WARRANT
On 3/26/2025 the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at a residence located at 530 Hanover Hill Lane, Waukon, IA in rural Allamakee County.
During the welfare check, ten dogs were located in the residence with two of the dogs being deceased. The owner of the dogs, Nathaniel Thomas Coleman (28 years of age) was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.
A search warrant was executed at the residence resulting in the seizure of eight live dogs. The dogs were transported to the Humane Society in Decorah, Iowa.
Nathaniel Thomas Coleman is charged with;
1 count – 717b.3(5) Animal neglect (aggravated misdemeanor)
1 count - 162.13 Inadequate care, animal in a commercial establishment (simple misdemeanor) 1 count – 124.401 Possession of a controlled substance (serious misdemeanor) 1 count – 124.414 Possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor)
