Prairie du Chien, WI - The staff of Peoples State Bank earned recognition recently for their outstanding financial education efforts with an award from the Wisconsin Bankers Foundation (WBF) for the fourth year in a row.
The Foundation awarded 10 banks and 14 individual bankers from around the state with Excellence in Financial Education awards on November 17 at a special breakfast during the WBA LEAD360 Conference to honor their commitment to growing financial education in their communities.
The Wisconsin Bankers Foundation commends these banks and bankers for carrying out a long-standing industry commitment to improving financial literacy. As a result of the pandemic, many bankers continue to come up with creative ways to advocate for the importance of financial literacy. Donations were made to schools and libraries, audio and video recordings of bankers reading books on financial literacy were produced, and bankers once again let their innovation shine. These participants continue to teach consumers of all ages about the importance of saving and budgeting, how to use credit responsibly, the ins and outs of obtaining a home mortgage or car loan, and many more financial topics. Educating children, teens, and adults about personal finance not only benefits individuals but our communities as a whole.
