Nick Trenkamp, shared Superintendent with Central and Kee High, has been placed on administrative leave in connection with comments made on Social Media. Staff was reportedly notified by e-mail about the administrative leave decision. The incident involves comments he made on Facebook. Trenkamp recently responded to a Facebook post stating that Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy would ban big Pharma ads on tv. Trenkamp responded that "This would be awesome. Not only does Big Pharma peddle their drugs, they promote homosexuality and obesity." Trenkamp initially issued an apology stating the post misrepresents who he is as an educator. He then issued a second apology via Facebook in regards to the now deleted post. Principal Aaron Reinhart will be taking over as Superintendent as this time.
Statement from Central School Board President Jared Funk
Mr. Trenkamp has been placed on administrative leave effective immediately and until further notice. During this period of time he is not to be on the premises or have any contact with any of the school districts employees or students in regards to any district business.
Under those terms Mr Reinhart will be the contact for official superintendent duties.
