Clayton County has a new County Recorder. The Supervisors today appointed Josie Fettkether to the position. Fettkether currents serves as the Deputy Treasurer for Clayton County so the County will have to fill that vacancy. Fettkether replaces Long-Time Recorder Sue Meyer who is retiring.
The Supervisors rescinded an ordinance dealing with Rural Garbage Disposal Plans. The proposal was to do all of the garbage disposal at the Elkader site with no rural site pickups. The Board heard from a number of rural residents about the issue. The Supervisors will now continue to work on a plan for garbage disposal for rural residents and what makes most sense for the County with the budget.
