Eastern Iowa energy districts are receiving federal funding. Decorah and the Clean Energy Districts of Iowa are getting 1.1 million dollars from the U.S. Department of Energy. The funds will be used to hire energy planners, and engineers. They'll help cities, school districts, and low-income homeowners access energy efficiency opportunities. The grant covers eight Iowa counties including Allamakee, Clayton, Delaware, Howard, Jackson, Winneshiek, and Tama.
