Clermont man charged after Authorities come upon a vehicle parked sideways

On 11-21-25, at approximately 11:30PM, a Fayette County Sheriff's Office came upon a vehicle parked sideways, running, with a blinker on in the 200 block of Center St. Elgin IA.  As the deputy pulled up to the vehicle to check on it, the vehicle drove multiple feet and came to rest again.  After an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Bruce Butikofer 62 of Clermont, was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 2^nd Offense, and aggravated misdemeanor.  Butikofer was taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where he was held until initial appearance.
