Connie K. Rau, 67, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Friday morning, October 1, 2021, at the Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, Iowa.
Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Monday, October 4, 2021, at the Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein.
Visitation: 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, October 3, 2021, and for one hour before the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Interment: Strawberry Point Cemetery, Strawberry Point, Iowa.

Connie Kay McManigle was born on November 21, 1953, in Manchester, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Russell “Tony” and Christileen Lillian (Hines) McManigle. She attended elementary school in Strawberry Point and graduated from Starmont High School in the class of 1972. Connie married Larry Rau in October of 1973 and they were blessed with three daughters, Gina, Lori and Lisa. Connie and Larry later divorced. Connie received her Associate Degree of Nursing from Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar in 1986. She started her nursing career at Oelwein Health Care Center working there for 12 years, Hillcrest Home in Sumner for 2 years, Lutheran Home in Strawberry Point for 3 years, Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Bee Branch, Arkansas for 2 ½ years, Heron Nursing Home in Huron, South Dakota as a floor nurse, charge nurse and then supervisor for 8 years and retired from Parkview Nursing Home at Bryant, South Dakota after working there for 2 years. Following her retirement, Connie moved back to Oelwein. Connie was previously a member of Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein and was a member of the National Nurses Service Organization.
Connie is survived by her 3 daughters: Gina (Kevin) Lamphere of Fairbank,
Lori K. Rau of Parkersburg and
Lisa Richardson of Oelwein;
3 grandchildren: Sam Holmes (fiancée: Deanna Schmidt), Zachery (Briana) Lamphere and Hope Lamphere;
brother: Jerry (Pam) McManigle of Waucoma;
sister-in-law: Lynne McManigle of Stanley;
and nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; grandson: Austin Lamphere; sister: Deanna Siders; 2 brothers: Roland McManigle and Ken McManigle; and son-in-law: Brett Richardson.
