County Releases

On October 21st, 2022, at approximately 8:50 p.m., a Clayton County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 52 and Pryam Street in Guttenberg for a traffic violation. While speaking with the driver, the deputy observed signs of impairment, and initiated an investigation. Todd LeGrand, 58, of Guttenberg, was found to be impaired and was placed under arrest. LeGrand was charged with Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Failure to Use Headlamps When Required. The Clayton County Sheriff's Office was assisted on the traffic stop by the Guttenberg Police Department,


On November 4th, 2022, at approximately 3:03 a.m., a Clayton County Deputy was on routine patrol in the city of Monona. The deputy opserved a vehicle acting suspiciously and stop in the middle of the street to pick up a male subject who came walking out from between two houses. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on Center Street in Monona to investigate the suspicious activity. During the traffic stop, the odor of marijuana was detected, and a probable cause search of the vehicle found marijuana as well as drug paraphernalia. Dakota Harville (28) of Prairie du Chien, Wi was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,


On November 5th, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a Clayton County Deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations on Garber Road near the intersection of Osterdock Road. The deputy observed an open container of aicohol and signs of impairment from the driver. An investigation was initiated and the driver, Ethan Christianson (25) of Guttenberg, was found to be impaired. Christianson was transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense and Failure to Dim Headlights.


On November 7, 2022, a Clayton County Deputy stopped a vehicle for a high rate of speed on Highway 52 north of the fairgrounds. During the course of the traffic stop, the deputy detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted and Lynn Alexander (57) of Davenport and Shontel Clark (37) of Davenport were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance a serious misdemeanor.


On the morning of November 8, 2022, a Clayton County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Highway 52 near Ivory RD in rural Garnavillo. During the traffic stop, the Deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and drug paraphernalia was located. Linwood P. Green (25) of Edgewood IA was issued a summons to appear for possession of drug paraphernalia and was also issued a citation for excessive speed.
