On April 18th, 2023, at approximately 12:20 pm, Clayton County Deputies arrested Nicholas Blank (44) of West Branch on an active Clayton County arrest warrant for harassment - 1st degree. Blank was taken into custody from the lowa State Patrol and transported to the Clayton County Jail.
On April 22, 2023, at approximately 10:30 PM, Clayton County Deputies initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle related to a welfare check. The driver was identified as Nicole Tesky (54) of Garnavillo, lowa. Tesky was found to have a barred driver's license through the State of lowa. Tesky was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail. During the booking process Ms. Tesky was found to be in possession of a crystallized substance, which later field tested positive for methamphetamine. Tesky was charged with driving while license barred (aggravated misdemeanor) and possession of a controlled substance 2nd offense (aggravated misdemeanor).
On April 29th, 2023, at approximately 1:25 a.m., a Clayton County Deputy on routine patrol located a vehicle in the ditch on Hilton Road north of the intersection of Horseshoe Road. The deputy made contact with the driver who was still located with the vehicle. While investigating the vehicle accident, the deputy observed signs of impairment from the driver. The driver was taken to the Clayton County Sheriff's Office for further testing. Trevor Amling (28) of rural Garber was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated 3rd or Subsequent Offense. Amling was additionally cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
On April 30th, 2023, at approximately 2:48 a.m., a Clayton County Deputy was on routine patrol on Pleasant Ridge Road near Marquette. The deputy was behind a vehicle and observed the vehicle cross the center line multiple times. The vehicle then accelerated to approximately 75 to 80 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was initiated, and contact was made with the driver. The deputy observed signs of impairment and began an OWI investigation. Yoni Soy Hernandez, (25) of Postville, was found to be impaired and placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated, 1st Offense. He was additionally issued citations for speed, driving on the wrong side of a two lane highway, and open container. Hernandez was transported to the Clayton County jail.
On May 5, 2023, at 4:47 PM Clayton County Sheriff's Deputies responded to 101 S. Russell Street in Farmersburg, IA for a reported assault. An investigation on scene determined Lonnie V. Davis Jr. (41) of Elkader, IA had assaulted another adult male by striking them in the head with a closed fist multiple times. Davis was arrested and transported to the Clayton County Jail where he was charged with Assault, a simple misdemeanor.
