The Clayton County Board of Supervisors approved the budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The budget totals an estimated 19.4-million, up about 300-thousand from the current budget. The increase is due to salary along with increases in insurance costs. The Urban tax rate will increase three-cents, up to $6.09 per-thousand. The Rural rate will decrease six-cents, down to $9.14-per thousand.
The Board approved the purchase of a 2021 Dodge Ram 1500 for the Sheriff’s Office at a cost of 20-thousand-three-hundred-fifty dollars.
