Crawford County Accidents

On Monday, November 6th, 2023, at approximately 6:47 a.m., the Crawford County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one-vehicle traffic crash on STH 60 near Buck Lane in the Township of Wauzeka.

Brittany Meegan, 29, of Boscobel, WI was operating a 2015 Chrysler 200, and she lost control while negotiating a curve. Meegan’s vehicle struck a culvert, went airborne, struck a post, and came to rest in a field. She sustained injuries, and she was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Meegan’s vehicle was severely damaged and towed from the scene. She was cited for failure to keep the vehicle under control.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Terry’s Tire & Tow Service, Boscobel EMS, and Wauzeka First Responders.

On Friday, November 3rd, 2023, at approximately 3:02 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of STH 35 and STH 82 in the Township of Freeman.

Brenda Hawkins, 61, of Rochester, MN was operating a 2019 Chevrolet Blazer southbound on STH 35. Hawkins was preparing to turn onto STH 82, and her vehicle was rear-ended by a 2012 Ford Fusion operated by Anna Kartman, 20, of La Crosse, WI. Occupants were wearing seatbelts and escaped without injury.

Hawkins’ vehicle sustained moderate damage and Kartman’s vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed from the scene. Kartman was cited for inattentive driving.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Bob’s Towing Service.




On Thursday, November 2nd, 2023, at approximately 6:28 p.m., the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a two-vehicle traffic crash on STH 131 near CTH B in the Township of Clayton.

Sara Enke (63) of Gays Mills, was operating a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on STH 131. Enke was preparing to turn into a private driveway, and her vehicle was rear-ended by a 2015 Toyota Corolla operated by Stephen Corbin (42) of Windsor, Wisconsin. Enke’s vehicle sustained moderate damage and Corbin’s vehicle sustained severe damage.

As a result of the crash investigation, Corbin was placed under arrest and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance, bail-jumping, and violation of probation. Also, he was cited for inattentive driving and no automobile insurance.
