Crawford Roll-Out

COVID-19 Vaccine Roll-out to the Community Update

The COVID-19 vaccination continues to be distributed to the community in a series of phases due to vaccine supply. While the vaccine supply is limited right now, this phased approach allows for priority groups to receive vaccine first.

The current priority groups include health care workers (paid & unpaid), long-term care staff and residents, police-fire-correctional institute personnel, and individuals age 65 and older. These specific populations are determined by the WI Department of Health Services who follow CDC and ACIP and SDMAC (Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and Wisconsin’s State Disaster Medical Advisory Committee) recommendations and requirements. The local health care systems and public health departments provide vaccinations to these groups as directed by the WI Department of Health Services.

This week, Crawford County Public Health has received 100 doses of Moderna for first vaccinations and 140 doses of Pfizer for second vaccinations. We are scheduling individuals into clinics from our current waiting list. “We are asking everyone to please remain patient as we do have a large waiting list and only receiving limited amounts of vaccine weekly” says Cindy Riniker.

If you would like to be added to our waiting list, go to or call our office at 608-326-0229.
