Delaware County Releases

Delaware County Authorities released information on a one-vehicle accident. The accident occurred on June 15th at 2:48pm on US Highway 20. 21-year old Mya Renae Vaske of Strawberry Point was operating a 2003 Toyota Corolla was traveling west on Highway 20 near Mile Marker 279. Vaske stated the she looked down to reach for some medication. The vehicle then hit a guardrail to an overpass. The vehicle spun in the roadway. Vaske complained of minor pain but did not seek medical treatment. Damage totaled eight-thousand dollars to the vehicle and five-thousand dollars to the bridge railing.

An Edgewood woman is charged in connection with an accident in Delaware County. Authorities report the accident happened on June 18th at 1:18pm. 31-year old Brenna Jean Cornwell was operating a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on Highway 3/Union Street in Edgewood. The Cornwell vehicle sideswiped the rear passenger side corner of a trailer that was attached to a vehicle. The vehicle was legally parked. Cornwell stated prior to the crash she passed a horse and buggy and moved back quickly to her lane as a semi was coming toward her. Cornwell got over too far and struck the trailer. No injuries reported. Cornwell was charged with failure to maintain control and no driver’s license.
