District Manager

The Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge (UMRNW&FR) is pleased to announce the selection of Kendra Pednault as the next McGregor District Manager. Kendra will bring a wealth of refuge management experience to McGregor District having previously served as the Refuge Manager of the Eastern Virginia Rivers National Wildlife Refuge Complex as well as the Deputy Refuge Manager of the La Crosse District - UMRNW&FR. Her professional career with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has also included stints at Deer Flats National Wildlife Refuge in Idaho, J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge in Florida and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge in Virginia. The mother of two beautiful daughters, Kendra will be returning to the mid-west with her youngest daughter who will be starting 4th grade and will be moving closer to her eldest daughter, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse in 2020. In addition to spending time in nature with her children, Kendra enjoys traveling, cooking, making pottery, gardening, and home improvement projects. Kendra was raised in San Antonio, TX and holds a B. S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Management from Texas A&M University and M.S. in Ecology from University of Maryland Eastern Shore. We are very excited to have Kendra returning to the River and ask that you join us in welcoming her back! *
