On 7-13-21, at approximately 7:10 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office took a 911 call of a personal injury accident near the intersection of Major Rd and Hwy 150, near Eldorado IA. Fayette County Sheriff's Deputies arrived on scene and conducted an investigation. After multiple interviews it was found that Morgan Molseed, age 19 of West Union, was crossing Hwy 150 at Major Rd when she collided with another vehicle headed northbound. The driver of the northbound vehicle was Chrystyn Thomas, age 64 of Calmar, IA. It was determined that Thomas' vehicle then collided with a 3rd vehicle initiating a left hand turn on Hwy 150 into Eldorado. The driver of the 3rd vehicle was Radi Vagts, age 63 of Eldorado. Thomas was transported to Palmer Hospital by ambulance with injuries and Vagts was taken to Palmer Hospital by private vehicle. All vehicles involved, a 2016 Ford Focus, 2008 Chrysler 300, and 2010 Chevy Suburban, were considered a total loss. Molseed was cited for Failure to Yield when Entering a Highway, a simple misdemeanor. Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by West Union Police Department and West Union Fire Department.
