Garnavillo Vandalism Investigation

***Attention All Garnavillo Citizens***

Last night(Saturday), there was an isolated incident of an individual vandalising property in town. All damage seems mostly to have been done to windows of vehicles and buildings. Please check your property including any outbuildings and parked vehicles to verify no damage has been done to any of your property. The Police Department also asks anyone with a home camera system or doorbell cameras to check their saved videos or video feed for any suspicious activity during the evening last night (Saturday) into early this morning (Sunday, 5/4/2025). There is no current danger to the public. A person of interest was taken into custody in town early this morning on unrelated charges. If you find any damage to property, please contact the Clayton County Sheriff's Office at (563)-245-2422 and file a report so that the police department can make contact with you.
