Two Vehicle Rollover Crash

On October 24th, at approximately 2:10PM, the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a report of a two vehicle rollover crash at the intersection of Hwy 18 and Hwy 35, in Patch Grove Township. Along with Grant County Deputies, emergency responders from Bloomington Fire, West Grant EMS, and Gunderson Tri-State EMS, were dispatched to the scene.

Deputies arrived on scene and it was determined a 2009 Buick Lucerne, operated by Myah Benson, 16, of Bloomington, was stopped at the stop sign on Hwy 35. Benson then attempted to cross Hwy 18, but she failed to see an oncoming vehicle traveling eastbound on Hwy 18. When Benson entered the intersection, she struck the rear of a 2020 Dodge Ram that was being operated by Robert Greenwood, 66, of Dodgeville. As a result of the collision, Greenwood's vehicle then struck the median and began to skid before rolling multiple times and coming to rest on its roof in the ditch.

Benson refused medical attention, but Greenwood and his passenger were transported to Crossing Rivers Hospital, in Prairie Du Chien, for evaluation.

Benson's vehicle suffered moderate front end damage and Greenwood's vehicle suffered heavy disabling damage. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

Benson was cited for Failure to Yield Right of Way.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Bloomington Fire, West Grant EMS, Gunderson Tri State EMS, Milo's Towing out of Prairie Du Chien, and Haase's Towing of Montfort.
