Grant County Authorities report that a traffic stop leads to drug arrests and two one-vehicle accidents take place

Traffic Stop Leads to OWI and Drug Arrests
On November 25, 2025, at approximately 7:47 AM, a Grant County Sheriff's Office sergeant stopped a vehicle driven by Brad Collins, 35, of Woodman, for not having their headlights on in the dense fog. When the sergeant made contact with the diver, he noticed the odor of marijuana in the truck. While at the driver's window, the sergeant noticed that the passenger, Paul Bunts, 41, also of Woodman, was holding what appeared to be drug paraphernalia.
A second deputy arrived to assist and during the initial investigation additional paraphernalia was located and Collins was placed under arrest
for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence with a Detectable Amount of a Restricted Controlled Substance.
After Collins was arrested, a search of the vehicle was conducted. During the search, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and suspected
methamphetamine was located. As a result, Bunts was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Bunts was transported to the Grant County Jail, and Collins was transported to a local hospital for a legal blood draw, and then to the Grant
County Jail.
The search led to the Sheriff's Office finding approximately four grams of marijuana and 34.9 grams of methamphetamine.
Collins was booked into the Grant County Jail for OWI-Restricted Controlled Substance 6th Offense, Operating After Revocation-OWI Related,
and Failing to Install Ignition Interlock Device. Collins was also issued citations for Possession of THC as well as Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia.
Bunts was booked into the Grant County Jail for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Bunts was issued a citation for Possession of THC.
One vehicle rollover
On Wednesday November 26, 2025, at approximately 12:13 PM, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a one vehicle rollover on
CTH A at Graney Rd., in Ellenboro Township.
When deputies arrived on scene, they learned Sierra Kruger, 16, of Platteville, was traveling east on CTH A when she glanced away from the
road.
Kruger's 2009 Honda Civic traveled onto the right shoulder. Kruger over-corrected her steering, and her vehicle ended up striking a stop sign
and over turning onto its passenger side. Kruger and a 15 year old passenger were taken to Grant Regional Health Center for treatment of
their injuries.
Assisting at the scene were the Lancaster EMS, Lancaster Fire Department, and Arrow Towing of Lancaster.
The crash remains under investigation.
One-Vehicle Rollover with Injury
On November 29, 2025, at approximately 6:43am, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a single-vehicle crash with injuries, on Irish Hollow Road in Waterloo Township. During the investigation, it was determined that Bryce Kuhn, 18, and his 15 year old passenger, both of rural Bloomington, were operating a 2014 Chevy Cruze, northbound, on Irish Hollow Road.
Kuhn was traveling down a hill when he lost control of the vehicle on the snow/ice covered road while attempting to negotiate e a slight curve in the road. Kuhn's vehicle left the road on the right side and struck a guardrail end along a bridge. The vehicle then traveled off the side of the bridge and overturned, coming to a rest on its roof.
Kuhn and his passenger were able to exit the vehicle and walk to a nearby residence to report the crash.
Airbags were deployed in the vehicle and it sustained disabling damage. Both Kuhn and his passenger were wearing seatbelts. Kuhn sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Grant Regional Health Center by Lancaster EMS. Kuhn's passenger sustained a minor hand injury and declined treatment.
Arrow Towing, Potosi EMS, Lancaster EMS, and the Waterloo Township Patrolman assisted at the scene.
