Grant County Courthouse Dome to Shine Red in  Tribute to Fallen Firefighters

Grant County, WI – In solidarity with communities nationwide, Grant County will participate in  the Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters tribute by illuminating the dome of the Grant County  Courthouse in red from April 27 through May 4, 2025. This national event honors the courage  and sacrifice of firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Organized in conjunction with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, Light the Night  invites individuals, businesses, and public buildings to display red lights as a powerful symbol of  remembrance and gratitude.

In recognition of these heroes, the President of the United States has requested that the  American flag be flown at half-staff on all federal buildings on May 4, which marks  International Firefighters’ Day

“The red glow of the Courthouse dome will serve as a visual reminder of the brave men and  women who gave their lives protecting our communities,” said Nate Dreckman, Grant County  Administrator. “We encourage everyone to join us in this tribute—light your homes or  businesses in red, attend remembrance events, and reflect on the sacrifice of our fallen  firefighters.”
