 Pursuit leads to multiple charges

On 7/21/24, at approximately 12:56 am, the on-duty Fennimore Police Officer spotted a vehicle with heavy front damage weaving outside the lane of traffic. Fennimore Police initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed, southbound on Lincoln Ave. Fennimore Police pursued the vehicle and the vehicle increased speed to 96 mph in a 35 mph, in the City of Fennimore. Fennimore Police terminated the pursuit and alerted dispatch. Shortly after the pursuit was terminated, it was reported that the suspect vehicle had rear-ended another vehicle on the north side of Fennimore. The vehicle continued on southbound on Hwy 61 and a Grant County Sheriff Deputy located the vehicle north of the City of Lancaster, traveling 108 mph in a 55 mph zone. A pursuit was initiated and the driver continued southbound into the City of Lancaster. The driver attempted to elude law enforcement but came to a stop in the city of Lancaster and was taken into custody. The driver was arrested and identified as Ali M. Hassan, age 27, of Stoughton. As a result of an investigation, Ali was arrested for Fleeing/Eluding an Officer, Operating while Intoxicated - 3rd Offense, Operating after Revocation, Failure to Install an Ignition Interlock Device, Illegal Possession of Prescription Medication, and a Probation Hold. Ali is currently on probation for Fleeing/Eluding an Officer and Armed Robbery. Ali had his initial appearance and is being held in the Grant County Jail on both a $1000 cash bond and a Probation Hold. Lancaster Police Department and Bennett's Towing assisted at the scene. .



Davenport Man Arrested in Grant County for Operating while Intoxicated

On 7/21/24 at approximately 9:00 pm, Grant County Dispatch received a 911 call of a three-vehicle crash south of the City of Boscobel. The Grant County Sheriff's Office responded and identified Frank M. Klee, age 55 of Davenport, IA as the driver of vehicle that had lost control and struck a guardrail. Frank's vehicle came to rest in the lane of traffic, causing blockage. Two other vehicles collided due to avoiding the blockage causing disabling damage to both vehicles. A 2023 Honda being driven by Jordan Powers, age 38 of Lancaster and a 2013 Dodge Caravan being driven by Grace Ideker, age 31 of Onalaska, WI. Only minor injuries were reported by the parties involved. Grant County Deputies investigated and arrested Klee for Operating while Intoxicated - 1st Offense. The passenger in Klee's vehicle, Hailey Perez, age 29 of Davenport, IA, was cited for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Boscobel Police Department, Boscobel Fire Department, Boscobel EMS, and Terry's Tire and Tow assisted at the scene.


Driver in Hit and Run Crash Charged with OWI

On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at approximately 2:55pm, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a white GMS truck that had struck a mailbox while northbound on Highway 61 near Badgerland Auto in Paris Township. It was reported that the vehicle did not stop after striking the mailbox and continued northbound into the Village of Tennyson. A Deputy in the Village of Tennyson was able to locate the truck involved, with damage, on Tennyson St. As the Deputy initiated a traffic stop the truck turned into a private driveway before coming to a stop. The Deputy made contact with the driver, 52 year old, Scott Weary of Tennyson, and observed open intoxicants in the truck. Weary denied being involved in a crash or hitting a mailbox until he was made aware of the damage his truck had sustained. After further investigation, Weary was arrested and cited with operating while intoxicated 1st offense, possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and hit and run to property adjacent to the highway.


DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE, 4TH OFFENSE

On July 24, 2024 at 10:44 A.M., a Grant County Deputy was patrolling Hwy 18 in Wingville Township, when he met a vehicle driving 83mph. A traffic stop was conducted the driver, 27 year old Fredy Sanchez Serrano of Cobb, was arrested for driving without a license, (4th), speeding, and no vehicle insurance. This matter will be referred to the Grant County District Attorney's Office.
