One vehicle rollover crash

On 03/19/2024, at approximately 8:44 a.m., the Grant County Sheriff's Office received a report of a one vehicle rollover crash in the Township of Woodman. After a brief investigation, it was determined that Christian Bendall, age 23 of Prairie du Chien, was traveling west on County Road C, in the Township of Woodman, in a 2000 Ford Ranger. Bendall crested a hill, and was approaching a left hand curve. Bendall stated he entered the

curve at too high of a rate of speed, and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle entered the ditch on the north side of the roadway before Bendall over corrected and the vehicle shot across both lanes of travel and entered the ditch on the south side of the roadway, striking a

fence, and then rolling approximately one and a half times before it came to rest on its driver's side facing back to the north. Bendall did not report any injuries, but a female passenger was transported to Gundersen Boscobel Area Health Care due to injuries sustained in the crash. Assisting at the scene were Woodman First Responders, Boscobel EMS, and Milos Towing. Bendall was cited for Operating without Valid Insurance.

Failure to Control leads to one vehicle crash.

On 3/22/24 at around 9:16 am Grant County Dispatch was advised of a one vehicle crash on USH 151 at the CTH XX overpass in the town of Platteville. The driver of the vehicle, Aaron Schmidt, age 35 of Madison, was traveling in the right lane of southbound traffic on USH 151 at the overpass for CTH XX when he attempted to pass another southbound vehicle on the snowy wet roadway. Schmidt entered the left lane of southbound travel and began to pass however he lost control of his vehicle and struck the cement bridge rail of the overpass on the right side of the roadway. Schmidt's vehicle, a 2015 Toyota Camry, sustained disabling damage. Schmidt was subsequently cited for failure to maintain control of his vehicle. The Grant County Highway Department and SOS Towing assisted with the crash. Schmidt sustained minor injuries and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
