Two Vehicle Crash On July 4, 2024 at approximately 2:35pm the Grant County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of the Hwy 151 Exit 21 northbound off ramp and Cty XX, located in the Township of Platteville. Darwin Millard, age 47 from rural Platteville, was traveling eastbound on Cty XX in his 2018 Nissan Rouge. At the same time Nicholas Peacock, age 18 from rural Platteville, was stopped at the stop sign at the bottom of the northbound Hwy 151 Exit 21 ramp in his 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Peacock was stopped at the stop sign making a left hand turn onto Cty XX, westbound into Platteville. Peacock did not see the Millard vehicle and pulled out right in front of him. The front of Millard's vehicle struck the front driver's side of Peacock's vehicle. Both vehicles careened into the ditch line on the southeast corner of the intersection. There were no injuries report and both individuals were wearing their seatbelts. Peacock was cited for Failure to Yield from a Stop Sign. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted in the matter by the Platteville Fire Department, Southwest Health EMS, and RIPs Towing of Platteville. ONE VEHICLE ROLLOVER CRASH On July 5, 2024 at 5:45 A.M., Spencer Meyer-Steiger, age 19 of Bloomington, was driving his 2017 Dodge Ram truck north on Gasner Hollow Rd in Wyalusing Township, when he was driving too fast on the gravel for a left curve. Meyer-Steiger failed to keep his vehicle under control while negotiating the curve. Meyer-Steiger drove into the east ditch, down a steep embankment, struck some large rocks and rolled the truck. The truck came to rest on the driver's side. Meyer-Steiger was wearing his seat belt and received a minor hand injury. Meyer-Steiger was cited for Driving too fast for Conditions. B&M's Towing of Bloomington removed the truck from the scene, which was a total loss
