July 11th Scores--South Winn rallies past Starmont in District Baseball Final! Scores are posted!

South Winn scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to rally past Starmont, 3-2 in a Class 1-A District Baseball Final. Caden Meyer and Bennett Smith each singled in a run and Jordan Einck lifted a sacrifice fly for the difference. Hayden Tieskoetter singled and scored. Carson Street added a single and Hugh Conway scored. Braiden Todd struck out five of the six-hittters he faced to close it out. For Starmont, Hudson Popham doubled in the two Stars runs in the second. Alex Lincoln had two hits and scored. Cayden Baumgartner, Wyatt Opitz, Elliot Francois, and Jax Tommason each had hits and Milton Cushion scored a run. The Stars close the season at 22 and 10. South Winn improves to 24 and 4. They face Don Bosco on Tuesday night. Bosco rallied past Wapsie Valley, 5-4 to advance.
