July 13th Scores--Ed-Co earns trip back to State with win over North Linn! Game recap is posted!

Ed-Co Softball advanced to their second state tourney berth in three seasons with a 3-2 win at North Linn. The Vikings were led by their seniors. Rachel Eglseder allowed just six hits, two runs, walked one, and struck out 14—several k’s in key situations. McKenna Hoefer had a hand in all three runs. Hoefer doubled with one out in the fourth and was replaced by courtesy runner Faith Kirby,. Senior Lauren Kirby then delivered a single to drive in her younger sister to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. Then in the fifth, Hoefer again doubled to drive in two to make it 3-1. Eglseder worked out of a jam in the bottom of the sixth and retired North Linn in order in the seventh to close it out. Senior Chloe Everitt and Faith Dugan each had two hits and Dugan scored a run. Ava Hoefer added a single and scored. For North Linn, Scout Krogman had two hits and drove in a run. Lilly McMahon drove in a run with a single. Adalen Keener and Chloe Fangman each hit doubles. Amelie Duffy and Gillian Schulte each scored.
The Lynx close the season at 30 and 11. Ed-Co improves to 27 and 10. The Vikings will face top-ranked Exira-EHK-Audubon in a Class 1-A State Tourney game on Monday, July 20th at 12pm.
