July 6th Scores

Three Kee High pitchers combined for 14-strikeouts and the Hawks defeated Ed-Co by a final score of 6-1 in the Class 1-A District Baseball Tourney Opener. Dalton Mudderman struck out 11 in 5-innings of work, Kaleb Drape struck out one and Jordan Cota added two ks to get out of trouble in the 7th. Drape led the Hawks offense going 2 for 4 and driving in three. Mudderman drove in a run with a squeeze bunt and scored. Andrew Kolsrud drove in two runs and scored twice. Tanner Troendle and Brayden Darling singled and scored. Trey Cota scored a run and Carter Sietz doubled. For Ed-Co, Brady Thein drove in their lone run and Caden Cole scored. Bennett Steger and Jax Steger had the two Vikings hits. Pryce Rochford worked effectively into the sixth inning on the mound but Kee High took control by scoring four runs to build a 6-nothing lead. Ed-Co scored a run in the seventh but ended the game with the bases loaded. The Vikings close the season at 5 and 18. Kee High improves to 25 and 10. Kee will host Turkey Valley on Tuesday Night at 7pm. The Trojans beat Riceville 8-3 to advance.
