MFL MarMac stopped a rally in the bottom of the seventh inning and they picked up a 4-2 win over Marquette. Parker Kuehl worked 6 2/3 innings, allowed just four hits, charged with two runs, walked no one and struck out thirteen. Ben Krambeer came in with two outs and two on in the seventh and the Bulldogs leading 4-0. Krambeer allowed a walk, then a double which drove in two. Kuehl nearly made a spectacular catch in deep right center field to end the game but lost the ball while crashing into the fence. However, Krambeer was able to get the save on a flyout to Kuehl in center to end the game. Kuehl had two hits, including a double and scored a run. Jacob Schellhorn singled to drive in a pair. Jaxon Millage drove in a run. Tyce Wikner doubled and scored. Carter Lightfoot and Blake Schutte each scored a run. Marquette was led by Troy Gibson who had the key double in the seventh to drive in two. Chase Templeton and Jack Kirk both singled and scored the two runs in the bottom of the seventh. The Defenders close the season with a 23 and 5 record. MFL MarMac improves to 23 and 6. The Bulldogs will play in the District Semi-Final on Saturday Night at Dyersville and will face Beckman. The Blazers advanced with a 4-0 win over Waukon.
