Large Steel Structure and Contents Lost in Dubuque County Fire

On July 19, 2026 at approximately 2351 hours, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office along with Key West Fire, East Dubuque Fire, Asbury Fire, Centralia – Peosta Fire, Bernard Fire, and La Motte Fire responded to 11178 Route 52 S for the report of a structure fire. Upon arrival Deputies observed a large steel sided structure on fire. A family member of the property owner received a call from a passerby who saw smoke coming from the structure. The family member then called Dispatch to report the fire.

The structure and contents are considered a total loss. The assessed value of the structure is $98,200.00. Total value of the contents inside of the structure is currently unknown. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
