Marquette Train-Pickup Accident

Train Collides with Pickup Truck at Marquette Crossing; Minor Injuries Reported

On May 25, 2025, at approximately 2:14 p.m., the Mar-Mac Police Department was notified of a motor vehicle accident involving a Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) train at the River Way railroad crossing within the corporate limits of Marquette, Iowa.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by an individual from Prairie du Chien, failed to obey the posted stop sign. As a result, the train collided with the Silverado.

The driver was transported to Crossing Rivers Health in Prairie du Chien with minor injuries. The train was traveling at a reduced speed of 17 mph, below the established 25 mph limit, due to nearby Memorial Day festivities.
