Cael Funk of Ed-Co tossed a no-hitter while striking out 18 in a 4-1 gem over Starmont. Funk struck out the side three times and issued no walks. He finished it off by striking out three around an error in the seventh. Funk went to only three balls to one hitter in the 94-pitch performance. Peyton Gaul drove in two runs with a fourth inning single. Funk added the only other hit. Quinten Hess, Dawson Bergan, Michael Bush, and Carson Knipper all scored for the Vikings. For Starmont, Nick Henry reached on an error and scored. Declan Johanns and Garrison Houge combined to allow just two hits. However, they walked ten and struck out seven. Starmont rebounded to win game two, 6-5. Both teams are now 1 and 1.
