Meth Investigation

On January 3, 2021, at approximately 2:19 P.M., the Mar-Mac Police Department responded to a business on First Street, in the corporate limits of Marquette, for an allegation of domestic abuse. During the investigation, an officer discovered what appeared to be an active “one-pot” methamphetamine clandestine laboratory. The clandestine laboratory was safely dismantled by specially trained personnel with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office. At approximately 7:13 P.M., the police department executed a search warrant for an apartment at the same location. Inside the apartment, officers found additional items, products, and materials used for or attempted to be used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. Seized evidence will be submitted to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory for analysis. The two incidents are under investigation by the Mar-Mac Police Department. Assisting on scene include the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, McGregor Hook and Ladder, Mar-Mac EMS, and Tri-State Ambulance. No additional information will be released at this time.
