Minor injuries reported in two-vehicle accident in Fayette County

On April 16, 2026, at 7:17AM the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a call of a two-vehicle accident on K Ave (W33) at the intersection of 50^th Street.  When Deputies arrived, it was learned that a 2013 Nissan Sentra operated by 42-year-old Angel Hovatter of Oelwein, pulled out in front of a 2024 Ford F550 operated by 33-year-old Mitchell Meyer of Fayette, who was going southbound on K Ave.  Mitchell's vehicle collided with the driver's side of Hovatter's vehicle.  Minor injuries were reported, and both vehicles are believed to be totaled.  Dense fog was believed to be a factor in this collision.  This accident remains under investigation.
