The Monona City Council approved a wage increase for two full-time police officers. Wages will increase $1.50 an hour immediately, with a $1 increase on May 8th and another $1 increase on July 3rd.
The Council recieved a tree report from the DNR. The city has allocated 15-thousand dollars as part of the city budget to remove Ash Trees throughout the city.
They held discuss on the proposed tax rate issue due to the miscalculation that was caused at the state level. The city will work on a budget tax rate of $15.18-per thousand, up 66-cents from the current level. Due to the state error, cities now have until April 30th to certify their budget.
