The latest Iowa Drought Monitor shows five counties in Northeast Iowa is considered to be in moderate drought. All of Clayton County, most of Fayette County is in a moderate drought. It also includes the northern tip of Dubuque County, and the Southern areas of Winneshiek and Allamakee County. Freemont County in Southwest Iowa is also in a moderate drought. The rest of Iowa is considered abnormallly dry.
