Oelwein Man Arrested on Warrants, Power/Telephone Lines in Arlington Hit by Box Truck

On July 30th, 2026, , a Fayette County Deputy arrested Jayden Heidt (age 24) of Oelwein, on 2 Fayette County warrants for Failure to Appear and 1 warrant for probation violation. Jayden was held at the Fayette County jail on bond.

 

On July 30th, 2026, at approximately 5:11 PM, Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received report of a box truck hitting power/telephone lines at the intersection of Fulton St. & Carroll St. in Arlington. Upon Deputy arrival, it was determined that a 2015 Freightliner driven by Amarion Ward, 24 of Springfield, Illinois, struck low hanging Kinetic telephone/internet lines causing approximately $10,000 damage to the Freightliner. Ward was issued a citation for operating a non-registered vehicle and Failure to provide proof of financial liability accident related. Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the City of Arlington, Kinetic, Telcom, and Alliant Energy. This incident remains under investigation.
