Oelwein Police arrest two on drug charges after traffic stop

At 12:51am on May 29, 2026, Oelwein Police conducted a traffic stop in the 10 block of 2nd Ave NW, leading to the arrests of Pamela Jean Haun, 68, of Oelwein, and Zacharias James Stowe, 38, of Hazleton.  Haun was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) - Serious Misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) - Serious Misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor.  Stowe was charged with two counts of Possession of a controlled Substance (3rd or Subsequent Offense) - Class D Felony and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Simple Misdemeanor.  Additionally, Haun was issued a citation for Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability and an equipment repair order for a nonfunctioning license plate light.
