Incident Details: In June 2026, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office received a report of a hidden camera in a bathroom at a residence on County Road B32, Ossian, Iowa. A juvenile reported seeing this camera while in the shower. Deputies responded and immediately initiated an investigation.

On June 20, 2026, the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office completed a search warrant at the residence and deputies were directed to the location of the hidden camera that was positioned pointing downward from the bathroom ceiling. Weston Recio admitted to placing the camera in the bathroom.

On July 6, 2026, an arrest warrant was obtained and on July 7, Weston Recio turned himself into the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office. Recio was taken into custody and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for two counts of aggravated misdemeanor invasion of privacy.
