OWLS Program

“Sny Magill”

Thursday, March 18th

Reservations Required Sny Magill Boat Ramp

Clayton County Conservation is pleased to bring back Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls this year. The first program of the season will be held on Thursday, March 18th. This year’s theme will be “O.W.L.S Favorites.” Programs will take inspiration from past favorites to offer participants a wide variety of topics and trips. The first program will be a visit to Sny Magill for a walk back in history. Please meet at 11:00 am at the Sny Magill boat ramp parking area.

Make sure to dress for the weather for this short easy hike. Sny Magill has a very colorful past that goes back 2500 years. Learn a few of the stories of those who explored Sny Magill over the centuries starting with those who built the largest mound group left in Iowa. After the program there will be the option of lunch at a local restaurant for those who wish to eat out. Register by calling (563) 245-1516 or visit www.claytoncountyconservation.org.

In response to the pandemic, we are asking participants to drive themselves to our field trip locations and to wear a mask. This and many future events will be open air events to help as well. April’s event will be a field trip to Pleasant Ridge Wildlife Area.
