Osborne Nature Center - Reservations Required
Osborne’s Next Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls (OWLS) program will be on Thursday, August 20th. August’s destination will be a trip to Bixby State Preserve and Ice Cave. Please meet at Osborne Park at 10:30 to carpool there.
Join us as we explore one of Iowa’s most unique parks. Participants will learn what an algific slope is and why Bixby is such a special place as we explore up to the Ice Cave. Participants should bring shoes that can get wet as we cross a small stream to get to the ice cave on the other side. This breathtaking hidden gem is a must see.
Join us the 3rd Thursday of each month, March through November, for O.W.L.S., Older Wiser Livelier Souls. Each month will feature a new destination, so join us as we explore some of the interesting places Iowa has to offer.
The Osborne Center is located on Highway 13, ten miles north of Strawberry Point or five miles south of Elkader. The center is open from 8:00am to 4:00pm daily, noon-4:00 on Sunday. Please call 563-245-1516 for more information or visit www.claytoncountyconservation.org.
