PDC Drug Investigation Arrests

On February 28, 2025, the Prairie du Chien K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on the 1400 block of S. Marquette Road after officers observed suspicious activity. K-9 Sheisty was utilized to conduct an open-air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle, where he indicated to the presence of controlled substances he is trained and certified to detect. Continuing the investigation, officers were made aware the passenger of the vehicle had methamphetamine concealed inside of a body cavity. The subject was taken to Crossing Rivers Hospital where approximately four grams (4g) of methamphetamine was located by medical staff and seized by law enforcement.

The suspect, Derek D. White, 28, of Prairie du Chien, WI, was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was later charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession with Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver (>50g), with enhancers of Party to a Crime and Conspiracy to Commit.

Continuing the investigation, the Prairie du Chien Police Department, with the assistance of the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, executed a residential Search Warrant located on the 1000 block of S. 10th Street in Prairie du Chien, WI around 8:30 a.m., February 28, 2025. While searching the residence, THC, digital scales, and other countless items of drug paraphernalia were located, along with numerous plastic baggies of methamphetamine. The Prairie du Chien Police Department seized a total of 103.52 grams of methamphetamine from this residence.

David E. Judge IV, 43, of Prairie du Chien, WI, was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, and Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine (>50g) with enhancers of Conspiracy to Commit and Party to a Crime.

As the Prairie du Chien Police Department continued their investigation on February 28, 2025, information was obtained that a larger supplier of methamphetamine was planning on delivering more methamphetamine to Prairie du Chien, WI. The Prairie du Chien Police Department, with the assistance of the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol, conducted a vehicle takedown, a high-risk traffic stop, in the Village of Ferryville, Wisconsin on US Hwy 35. Prairie du Chien Police K-9 Sheisty was again utilized to conduct an open-air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle, where he indicated to the presence of controlled substances from within the vehicle. The vehicle was searched where law enforcement seized another 252 grams of methamphetamine.

The passenger and supplier of methamphetamine was identified as Eugene J. Spears, 44, of La Crosse, WI, was arrested and will be facing charges of Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver (>50g).

This has been an ongoing investigation and other users and local methamphetamine suppliers have been identified. Further arrests may occur.

 The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) along with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office also assisted the Prairie du Chien Police Department with this investigation.
