Prairie du Chien City Council Approves Bonds for Well Project

The Prairie du Chien City Council approved a resolution for the issuance of nearly 477-thousand in water system revenue bonds. The bonds will be used to help finance the Well 5 Improvement Project.

The Council voted unanimously to override the Mayor Mark Gilltzer's veto of a proposed land swap. The Council voted 8-0 to override the veto and approve the swap. It involves nearly two acres of land across the bridge on Saint Feroile Island owned by Maura Garrity. The city will receive the land in exchange for nearly one-acre of land located behind the Pattison Load Site in the City. The City plans to use the land on Saint Feriole Island for handicapped improvements and more.
