Prairie du Chien K-9 Assists

On Monday, June 16, 2025, the Prairie du Chien Police Department K-9 Unit responded to assist a nearby agency during a traffic stop. K-9 Rico was deployed and alerted to the odor of a controlled substance inside the vehicle.
A subsequent search led to the discovery of a loaded 9mm handgun and approximately one gram of methamphetamine. The driver was taken into custody. No other details have been released.
