Crossing Rivers Health has earned the Most Improved Stroke Process: Top 2025 Regional Site Improvement Process award from Emplify Health’s Regional Stroke Program for life-saving door-to-needle treatment times. This recognition comes from the organization's successful efforts to reduce treatment time by nearly 1/2, dropping from 60-70 minutes to an average of just 33 minutes, compared to the record best of 20 minutes.
This achievement was driven by a comprehensive workflow redesign that brings all essential resources, including tele-neurology, directly into the CT suite for immediate assessment and medication administration. The award recognizes a massive, cross-departmental collaboration across laboratory, imaging, obstetrics, respiratory therapy, emergency services, medical-surgical units, and primary care clinic, whose innovative rapid-response protocols are now being shared regionally to help other Level IV facilities elevate their stroke care.
Crossing Rivers Health was also recognized for the Fastest door-to-needle (20 minutes) - Emplify Regional 3rd Qtr. 2025 Top Performer. This reflects the time from a patient arriving in the Emergency Department with a possible stroke, to completing multiple evaluations and testing, to then receiving the clot-dissolving medication intravenously. The national benchmark is 60 minutes.
