Three people injured in a two-vehicle accident; Charges filed in single-vehicle accident; and two arrest incidents happen in Delaware County

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Delaware County. The accident occurred on February 20th at 12:06am. 35-year old Dauoda Balde of Iowa City was operating a 2022 Toyota Camry traveling southbound on Highway 13. Balde failed to maintain control, the vehicle crossed the center line and hit head-on with a 2025 Honda Caravan operated by 71-year old Dale Arthur Reis of New Vienna. Balde, Reis and a passenger in his vehicle, 71-year old Karen Therese Ries of New Vienna, were all taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Damage totaled 25-thousand dollars. Balde was charged with failure to maintain control.
No injuries reported in a two-vehicle accident in Delaware County. The accident occurred on February 21st at 2:48pm. 29-year old Dominic Marie Maker of Dyersville was traveling southbound on 380th Avenue and attempted to pass a slow moving 8920 Case Tractor operated by 20-year old James Jaxson Bagge of Dyersville. Maker attempted to pass the tractor as it started to turn east onto 177th Street. Maker attempted to avoid striking the tractor and manure spreader and the vehicle entered the ditch. Maker and four passengers in the vehicle escaped injury. Damage totaled five-thousand dollars and Maker was charged with Passing in an Intersection.
