Three people injured in a two-vehicle accident; Charges filed in single-vehicle accident; and two arrest incidents happen in Delaware County

Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Delaware County. The accident occurred on February 20^th at 12:06am. 35-year old Dauoda Balde of Iowa City was operating a 2022 Toyota Camry traveling southbound on Highway 13. Balde failed to maintain control, the vehicle crossed the center line and hit head-on with a 2025 Honda Caravan operated by 71-year old Dale Arthur Reis of New Vienna. Balde, Reis and a passenger in his vehicle, 71-year old Karen Therese Ries of New Vienna, were all taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Damage totaled 25-thousand dollars. Balde was charged with failure to maintain control.

No injuries reported in a two-vehicle accident in Delaware County. The accident occurred on February 21^st at 2:48pm. 29-year old Dominic Marie Maker of Dyersville was traveling southbound on 380^th Avenue and attempted to pass a slow moving 8920 Case Tractor operated by 20-year old James Jaxson Bagge of Dyersville. Maker attempted to pass the tractor as it started to turn east onto 177^th Street. Maker attempted to avoid striking the tractor and manure spreader and the vehicle entered the ditch. Maker and four passengers in the vehicle escaped injury. Damage totaled five-thousand dollars and Maker was charged with Passing in an Intersection.
