On 7/27/2026  at approximately 1:13 PM, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a call of a motor vehicle accident located at HWY 3 and W Ave, involving 3 vehicles. When deputies arrived on scene, there was a semi w/ trailer, a Dodge Ram 5500 w/ trailer, and a sedan in the ditch. After the collision between the two vehicles, the vehicles then collided with a 2008 Chevy Impala operated by 28 year old Seth Reinking of Westgate that was parked at the stop sign on W Ave, in the southbound lane. The driver of the semi, the driver of the Dodge Ram, and the passenger of the Dodge Ram were then transported to Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner. The case remains under investigation. The Fayette County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Iowa Department of Public Safety, Oran First Responders, Oran Fire Department, Mercy One Ambulance, Del's Towing Service Center, B & L Towing, and Iowa Big Rig Service.
