Three Vehicle Crash
On May 20, 2021, at approximately 2:57 PM the Grant County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center received a report of a three vehicle crash at the intersection of State Highway 129 and County Road A. During the crash investigation it was determined that Arnold Becker, age 61 of Platteville, was operating a 2019 Ford F-150 east on County Road A and was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection. Hannah Digman, age 24 of Platteville, was operating a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt north on State Highway 129 and Nancy Pagenkopf, age 55 of Lancaster, was operating a 2018 Dodge Challenger west on County Road A and was stopped at the intersection on the east side of the roadway. Becker waited for the southbound traffic to clear the intersection and then proceeded into the intersection as Digman was traveling north, Digman was unable to avoid the collision with Becker's vehicle and struck the passenger side of the vehicle. The collision caused Becker's vehicle to spin toward Pagenkopf's vehicle and made contact with the front corner panel of the vehicle. Becker's vehicle continued into the ditch on the northeast side of the roadway and came to a rest. As a result of the accident Becker was cited for Failure to Yield From a Stop Sign. No parties involved reported any injuries. The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Lancaster Police Department, Lancaster Fire Department, and Lancaster EMS. The vehicle's were removed by Bennett's Auto and Towing and Arrow Towing out of Lancaster.
