Two-Vehicle Crash with Injuries
On July 25th, 2026, at approximately 11:20am, the Grant County Sheriff's Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 35, in Jamestown Township.
When deputies arrived on scene, it was determined Anna Haldiman, 22, of Dubuque, IA, was eastbound on Highway 11 at the intersection with Highway 35, in her 2018 Jeep Cherokee. At the same time, Brian Denemark, 56, of Cascade, IA, was driving his 2019 Honda Civic westbound on Highway 11. Denemark was stopped in the intersection waiting for traffic to clear so he could turn south onto Highway 35.
The traffic lights for Highway 11 turned from yellow to red, and as Denemark attempted to complete the left turn, Haldiman tried to continue eastbound through the intersection on Highway 11. The front of Haldiman's Jeep collided with the front of the Honda Civic. The Jeep then left the roadway on the south side of the intersection and entered the ditch where it struck a tree and flipped onto its passenger side. Denemark's Honda Civic came to a rest in the middle of the intersection.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Denemark sustained minor injuries and refused medical transport after being evaluated at the scene. Denemark's 22 year old passenger was not injured.
Haldiman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a Dubuque hospital via ambulance.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Dickeyville EMS, Hazel Green EMS, Jamestown First Responders, Jamestown Fire Department, East Dubuque Police Department, Jo Davies County Sheriff's Office, and Donnie's Tire and Tow.
The crash remains under investigation.
