Two Vehicle Crash with Injury
On May 21st at approximately 6:38 pm, the Sheriff's Office was notified of a two vehicle crash with injuries on Highway 61 at Bartow Road in the Township of Fennimore. Vanessa Lee, age 34 of Boscobel, was operating her 2010 Chrysler Town and Country van southbound on Highway 61. Hayden Lee, age 34 of Boscobel, was a front seat passenger in the vehicle. Lee was slowing down and eventually stopped in the southbound lane of Highway 61, waiting for northbound traffic to clear so she could turn left onto Bartow Road.
Mitchell McGraw, age 36 of Boscobel, was operating a 2004 GMC Yukon, also traveling south on Highway 61 directly behind the Lee vehicle. McGraw failed to notice Lee's vehicle slowing and stopping on Highway 61. McGraw's Yukon collided with the rear of Lee's van. The van was pushed into the northbound lane of Highway 61 and came to a rest. McGraw's vehicle continued south on Highway 61 for about 100 yards before coming to a rest in the ditch. Both vehicles received extensive damage and were towed. Vanessa and Hayden Lee received minor injuries and were treated and released from the scene. McGraw sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital via Ambulance.
McGraw was cited for Operating After Revocation 4th+ Offense, Inattentive Driving, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance. The Fennimore Police Department, Fennimore Fire and EMS, Doan's Towing, and Collision Specialist's out of Fennimore assisted at the scene.
