27-Iowa projects selected for the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Progam, including five in Northeast Iowa. The projects will boost renewable energy areas in rural parts of the state. Pine View Farmers of Garber received over 59-thousand to install a more energy-efficient grain drying system. Thomas Recker of rural Manchester received nearly 110-thousand for installation of a solar array and wind turbine hybrid system. Robert Lucas of rural Worthington received nearly 20-thousand for a solar array, 3M Auto Parts in Dyersville received over 18-thousand to install a solar array at its auto part store, and Stephanie Kaufmann of Farley received over 14-thousand to install a solar array at her hair salon.
