West Union Knife Altercation

On November 2nd, 2025, at approximately 0046 hours, West Union Police Department was dispatched to the local establishment regarding an altercation involving a knife resulting in a stabbing. The West Union Police Department conducted an initial investigation and took initial reports of what happened, an attempt to locate was activated for an out-of-state visitor who was potentially accompanied by a West Union local. The attempt to locate was successful, which led to the arrest of Christy Wark of Canal Whinchester, Ohio and Douglas Ramer Jr., of West Union, Iowa. Wark has been charged with “Willful Injury with Serious Injury” with a $10,000 bond. Ramer JR has been charged with “Interference of Official Acts” and has been release on an unsecured bond. Both Wark and Ramer Jr. were taken to the Fayette County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing pending additional charges. All victims will remain nameless at this time, and medical aid was rendered for injuries at the Gundersen Hospital. The West Union Police Department was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
