64 year old Rachel Sue Hoffland of Decorah was driving an SUV westbound on 360th Street near the intersection of 198th Avenue, when she didn’t make a complete stop at a stop sign and continued through the intersection with 198th Avenue and was struck by a straight truck driven by 20 year old Dalton JD Zidlicky of Decorah who was unable to stop in time. A Minnesota man escaped injury when his SUV flipped onto it’s side and caught fire after avoiding a deer. The Sheriff’s office received a 911 call around 10:00 Tuesday. The caller stated his car went into the ditch and caught fire. 21 year old Reid Jameson Bjerke of Spring Grove, MN said he was traveling north on Locust Road and swerved to miss a deer in the roadway, and appeared to have over corrected and ended up in the west ditch.
